Food delivery franchise Aussie Farmers Direct has decided to action against the consumption of foreign milk in Australia. To make Australian milk attractive again, the company is investing $5.45 million in the launch of a brand new company, called Aussie Farmers Dairy.
Currently more than 90% of fresh milk in the country is supplied by foreign owned companies. The business opportunity thinks this is highly unnecessary, as Australian milk is just as good and the sale of it is better for the economy. Aussie Farmers Dairy is only the first step in a series of 'Aussie Fights Back', a campaign aiming to provide Australians with 100 per cent Australian owned, grown and produced goods.
Braeden Lord, CEO of Aussie Farmers Direct, commented: "At the heart of the company's core values is connecting the farming community to Australian households and creating and fostering rewards and opportunities for everyone. With so much of Australia's fresh milk in the hands of foreign ownership, Aussie Farmers Dairy will benefit local dairy farmers by giving them a greater choice of buyers, support local jobs and give Aussie consumers the choice of a 100 per cent Australian owned and produced milk."
Aussie Farmers Dairy’s plan is to redevelop a former Bonlac Factory in NSW, creating a new dairy processing and bottling unit that will supply approximately 100,000L of ‘100 per cent Australian milk’. The milk will be distributed by the food franchise's local network of 'milkmen' across Australia.
