Coffee Vending Franchise expands across the country

Espresso Vend Australia is offering several new franchise business opportunities across the nation. The chain recently took on two new master franchisees in Victoria and New South Wales.

The plan is to appoint at least another 3 master franchisees within the next six months. Each of these will then be in charge of at least 36 franchisees in their region. The vending franchise opportunity, which provides offices with coffee vending machines, has even further expansion plans for 2011.

Adrian Sclanders, director of Espresso Vend, explained why his company is so successful. Australian employees want premium quality coffee at work. This usually means a significant loss of productivity,  when people leave the office to visit their favourite coffee shop.

"Espresso Vend Australia helps businesses to regain that lost productivity but also offers their employees a better coffee experience at a lower price than they will find elsewhere. There is no cost for a business to install one of our machines in their workplace, which means there is no risk to them. Because we have lower overheads than traditional coffee shops we can offer their staff low prices of up to $2.50 per cup."

The coffee franchise which has been supplying premium AA-grade coffee since the 1980s, was founded in South Australia.

Coffee Franchise and Brewery Create New Beverage

Franchise business opportunity Zarraffa’s Coffee and the Burleigh Brewing Company (BBC) have created a brand new beer together. Bringing Australia’s two favourite beverages together, the companies have produced a fine lager with a delicate coffee aroma: Black Giraffe.

The delicacy will be sold in screen printed collectible bottles, but as only 600 cartons were produced, fans will have to move fast to get hold on some. The beer is the BBC’s second release from the Bit On The Side range.  In order to create this unique new flavour blend, Brennan Fielding, the BBC’s Brewmaster, combined his extensive brewing expertise with Kenton Campbell’s impressive knowledge of coffee. “You couldn’t find two guys more into flavour,” Campbell, Zarraffa’s CEO, commented.

Because Campbell is as passionate about coffee as Fielding is about his beer, the two were a match made in heaven. When the brewery came up with the idea, Fielding soon came to the conclusion that this award winning coffee franchise would be the perfect supplier to provide the essential ingredient for the coffee-flavoured lager.

Campbell truly enjoyed being part of the project: “It’s really been a fun collaboration taking our brewing and coffee know-how and packing it into a beer.” But most of all, he is pleased with the result: “A very smooth tasting beer with a nice hint of coffee, which is not overpowering and leaves a very pleasant aftertaste.”

In order to get the perfect, high-quality aroma, Zarraffa provided six hundred kilos of the finest Mexican Rainforest Alliance coffee beans. The project started in early June, when the whole team started grinding the beans. “With only a one hour window in the brewing process during which the coffee could be added to the brew, it really was an action packed day and I think we were all a little buzzed from the experienced – literally”, Campbell joked.

“It’s partnerships like this and new product development that keeps us interested in innovating our coffee blends and delivering superior flavour, whatever the end use,” he added. The Black Giraffe will be available in selected shops and restaurants from next week.

Food Franchise Donut King welcomes 100th barista

Deb Liversidge from Brisbane was very happy to receive the prestigious “Royal Bean Barista” coffee accreditation from the Donut King franchise, even though she had to work hard for it: "I went through 10 hours of theory and 93 hours of practical training – it was hard work, but I loved every second of it. Customers always rave about our stores’ delicious coffee, so I’m looking forward to hanging up our new accreditation in store.”

Donut King National Operations Manager Chris Szysz is convinced that this accreditation will be a valuable contribution to Liversidge’s CV. Said Szysz:

“Retail Food Group’s Coffee Training Program allows graduates to achieve the nationally-recognised qualification ‘Plan and Monitor Espresso Coffee Service’. This means that Donut King baristas, like Deb, can take their accreditation with them throughout their career, confident of their coffee skills.”

The training program consists of four levels – Introduction to Coffee; Coffee Maker; Barista; and Coffee Guru. At the end the graduates will a well rounded knowledge of coffee theory and practice, everything from coffee blends and extraction to pouring and service.

Donut King, like Brumby’s Bakeries and BB’s Cafe, is a franchise opportunity within the Retail Food Group. To find out more about these and other Food Franchise opportunities, search for food franchises on FranchiseSales.
