Snap, the Australian print, copy and design franchise opportunity, has announced future plans that, if all goes well, will increase revenue by 16% in 3 years time. The franchise is going to expand its services with a brand new marketing service and an online printing tool.
These plans will involve a partnership with publishing powerhouse Quark. Snap CEO, Grant Vernon confirmed that the new products indicate a new direction for the company: "It would be short-sighted to rely solely on print if Snap is to remain a strong business," he said. "This is a fundamental value proposition for the whole network."
"This is an evolution of our business, it is not a sideline. We will transition the entire business. What will happen is that print will become more targeted, more personalised, to fit into a marketing context. There is undeniably a sign of revenue shifting to the web and multimedia becoming a significant revenue stream," he added.
The first product, called Snap Level 2, offers small businesses a one-stop-shop design and marketing service, which will form a second income for Snap’s franchisees. This service is to make use of different media, including internet and email. Vernon called this product a “marketing health check” for customers with a limited budget, enabling them to use professional templates for a reasonable price.
The second product, Snap Promote, has been developed as an online service enabling customers to tailor a wide range of professionally designed marketing material templates. The software needed to be able to do this can be downloaded from Snap’s website. Snap Promote will be the world’s first private-label adaptation of QuarkPromote.com.
Vernon strongly believes the new products will attract young, ambitious entrepreneurs: "We believe it is an exciting transition for franchisees and will attract the younger generation who want a consulting style of service."
The switch to online media has enabled the franchise business opportunity to introduce an alternative lower cost model, meaning that beginning franchisees can purely focus on consultancy and advise while outsourcing their printing services. Because of this new option, “franchisees can get started in Snap for $100,000”, according to the CEO.
Snap currently owns 147 stores in Australia; the new products will be launched nationally in 2013.
