Convenience retail franchise appoints new CEO

Australian retail franchise business opportunity NightOwl announced that it has appointed a new CEO. This is good news for the franchise department of the company: Andrew Morgan has a lot of experience, both as a franchisor and a franchisee.

Morgan has an impressive history in the franchise industry. He spent a decade working for McDonald’s in Hamilton, New Zealand, before he moved over to Noel Leeming, New Zealand’s leading retail appliance chain. He transformed the company by introducing the franchise model and actually owning two of the new stores.

He also developed the franchise system for two of Fastway Couriers’ largest business units in New Zealand and Australia. By creating new sales and service initiatives with the national and master franchisor Fastway Global, the world's largest courier franchise, he made sure the company could grow before he left to work for NightOwl.

Morgan is very excited about his new job: “I’m thrilled to join NightOwl, which has an established and highly regarded reputation in the franchise space and is continuing to expand successfully into new territories. My intention is to build a group of passionate people who will take the NightOwl franchise to new levels of standards and store performance and reward franchisees for their investment.”

Adam Adams, NightOwl owner and franchisor, is just as pleased with the newcomer: “We are delighted to welcome Andrew to the NightOwl team. His areas of expertise and understanding of what it takes to operate a successful franchise will help ensure NightOwl maximises its core assets and partnerships.”

NightOwl and its franchisees currently operate 61 stores spread across Australia. The convenience retail chain employs more than 550 casual and full-time staff. NightOwl opened its first store in 1975. To stimulate further expansion, it adopted the franchise model in 1986.
